UPDATE – 8:00PM – Once water service is restored, A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for Springtown Hill Road, Penrose Street and Pearson Avenue.

BOIL WATER BEFORE USING

This advisory applies to customers in the Hellertown Park portion of the Authority system: generally bounded by Springtown Hill Road, Penrose Street and Pearson Avenue. It DOES NOT apply to LSA customers in other sections of the water system.

As a result of a major water main break in Lower Saucon Township, and subsequent partial loss of system pressure in the late afternoon of August 24, 2025, the LOWER SAUCON AUTHORITY is issuing this precautionary BOIL WATER ADVISORY. While loss of pressure does not automatically mean that disease-causing organisms are present in the water, it does mean that there is an increased risk of the presence of these organisms. These organisms can make you sick and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems.
What Should I Do?

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.

Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for 1-3 minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and preparing food until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be in the water.
These organisms can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a special health risk for infants, young children, some of the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.
NOTE: Organisms in drinking water are not the only cause of the symptoms above. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.

UPDATE – 4:20PM – The break is worse than we expected. We are going to have to shut off water service to the area to repair the break. When service is restored, there will be a Boil Water Water Advisory in place. Please read the Boil Water Advisory in the link below.

Boil Water Advisory 08-24-2025

——————————————————————————————————-

The Lower Saucon Authority is currently experiencing a water main break at the intersection of Route 412 and Springtown Hill Road. Another utility was digging and hit our main. There are currently water service outages to Springtown Hill Road, Penrose Street and Pearson Avenue. We are not sure how long it will take to fix the break. Please check back on either our website or our Facebook page for updates.
